Description
DOTS! ALL THE DOTS! This piece took me over 18 months to complete and it’s completely made using dots aka stippling. There are no solidly drawn lines in this piece anywhere. In some random weird estimating, I calculated close to 7.2 million dots. I could be way off … under or over. What I am trying to say is that it’s a lot. Each dot was made with a pen ranging from .003 to .06 mm. Small. SUPER SMOL. ITTY BITTY SMOL. The art is on archival bristol paper and professionally framed and matted using museum-grade glass. When you spend this long on a piece you want to make sure it lasts. The original art was pulled from public-domain vintage medical illustrations dating. I consider myself a good artist but sadly I am not well versed in medical anatomy knowledge hence the reference image.
Dimensions:
Frame – 19in wide by 23in tall
Artwork (actual art) – 10.5in wide by 14in tall
Artwork (media) – 14in wide by 17in tall
I didn’t want to sell this for a very long time. So why am I selling this now? I have big plans as a person and big plans as a business and in order to achieve those I need to get my finances in order. I am the only person who sees this piece and I’m ready for it to find a new home. The price tag is high. Extremely high compared to anything else on this website or that I sell – even my graphic design work isn’t this high. The price includes shipping in the US and it comes with a certificate of authenticity. Shipping will be through UPS and require an adult signature for delivery.
If you are interested in the piece but aren’t sure you can always message me through the website and I can give you further images or answer any other questions.
This is a giant purchase so please be patient with me if there are any hiccups along the way.
